Galway Atlantaquaria
Galway Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s National Aquarium, is the “jewel in the crown of visitor attractions in the West of Ireland” and is home to 170 species of fresh water and marine life. Situated on the famous Salthill Promenade, it has evolved to become one of the finest visitor attractions in Ireland. Designed over two floors, visitors follow a vivid interpretation of the Irish aquatic landscape: from the glacial mountain streams of Connemara, down through the famous River Corrib and out into the Atlantic Ocean via Galway Bay. On the journey exhibits include Salmon, Seahorses, Octopus, Stingrays and a real 60ft whale skeleton.
