Galway offers a unique and diverse shopping experience with a wide range of shops fully equipped to cater for the needs of both visitors and locals alike. The city caters for a very large cachement area as the regional capital of the West and the variety of goods on offer reflects the changing needs of its public. Many of the shops are located on streets in the main shopping area in the centre of the city. These shopping areas are supplemented by a number of enclosed shopping centres. Corrib Shopping Centre
Located just off Eyre Square, the Corrib Shopping Centre is a compact shopping mall featuring a wide range of goods. The main outlet for this centre is the department store, Debenhams. Marks and Spencers have a department store as well as a food court and there are plenty of cosmetics and accessories, menswear, ladies wear and household goods as well as a spacious café and a multi storey car park.
Eyre Square Shopping Centre
The centre was built on the site of an old timber yard in an effort to breath life into the city. And it was an undoubtable success. Today, with its specialist shops in fashion, food, sport, gifts, books, household goods, department stores, cafes, banks and bustling yet spacious atmosphere and its constant hosting of exhibitions and events for children and adults, Eyre Square Centre has become a centre in every sense of the word.
Galway Shopping Centre
The Galway Shopping Centre on the Headford Road was the first centre of its kind to be established in the city. Stores here include Tesco and Penney's. An excellent range of smaller shops includes fashion outlets, shoe shops, newsagents, record shops and health shops. Several restaurants and car parking spaces also cater for customers needs.
Westside Shopping Centre Galway
Westside Shopping Centre is situated on one of the main approach roads to Galway. The main outlet at the centre is Dunnes Stores, which comprises a foodmarket and clothes shop. There are also a number of other outlets in the centre, geared towards catering for the large local population. There are plenty of car parking spaces to make your trip easier.
Galway Retail Park
The Galway Retail Park is located on the Headford Road opposite the Galway Shopping Centre. It is home to many big names such as Currys, Woodies DIY, Lifestyle Sports, Elvery Sports, Aldi and Chartbusters. McDonalds restaurant and Omniplex cinema make it an ideal area for a relaxed shopping expedition.
Wellpark Retail Park
Wellpark Retail Park is located on the Dublin Road and features Atlantic Homecare, Reed Furniture, Toy City, PC World and Maplin. Eddie Rockets, Barbarista coffee shop and the Eye Cinema provide some much needed relaxation.
Judy Greene Pottery
Judy Greene Pottery was established in 1982 in the heart of medieval Galway specialising in hand thrown terracotta, depicting Irish flora and landscape. Judy's signature range and best loved is her bluebell design. Judy Greene's pottery is produced using traditional skills of craft-potters. The workshop is situated in the heart of Galway - a unique urban center with a lively "town atmosphere" housing a cosmopolitan diversity of craftworkers and artists.

Spiddal Craft Centre
Drawing their inspiration from the landscape and culture of the Gaeltacht of Connemara, the crafts people who work, display and sell their products at the Spiddal Craft Centre produce a range of handcrafted quality products which is representative of this area. Visitors can observe the crafts in the making and chat with the master crafts people in the individual studios. The variety of products include Pottery, Candle Making, Leather Working, Woodturning, Jewellery, Hand Weaving, Silk Painting and Batik. There is also an Art Gallery and Bistro.
